After useful functions such as the multiple status reactions, temporary DPs, Video suggestions, friend insights and the hover-over video play, three amazing new features have been added recently- the ‘Gif Profile Picture’ and ‘Add a Short Bio’ and ‘Featured Photos’.
Facebook has recently placed much importance on videos. With the muted, auto-playing video first, and now the social networking site lets you use a short video as your Facebook profile picture. Yes, it is true. The video clip can be a few seconds long and will play on loop, like what we call gifs. But this will require you to be on the Facebook’s mobile application for Android and iOS. This is the second latest new feature that plays as the Public side of your profile. This allows you to show only the information you wish to keep open to the public. Also, you can pick 5 featured photos that sum you up your short bio of 101 characters.

These awesome changes are the latest and the most noticeable ones to come to Facebook’s mobile application. With the overall greater emphasis on video these days, Profile Pictures, correction here, Profile Videos could prove to be hugely popular and beneficial for Facebook’s losing importance against twitter and other newer social sites. A million Facebook users already access the site on mobile devices, but Facebook clearly isn’t giving you an option there. These features will definitely ensure people coming back to Facebook and will only further build its dominance as the largest social network.
