However, digital world is not static and is continuously evolving and becoming more challenging. Every year we see a new set of trends in the world of online marketing which are the result of Google updates, consumers’ preferences, etc. In 2013 alone, Search advertising and Display advertising were among the top spends of marketers.
In online advertising market, search advertising constituted the biggest share of 40% while other advertising categories like social media, email and video stood at 13%, 3% and 7%, respectively.
The top digital spending sectors of 2013 were Auto, BFSI, Travel and Telecom. Mobile and tablet advertising constituted 10% of the online advertising market. Apart from this, most of the businesses have spent on video ads and the total video ads spends in 2013 was around 150 Cr INR.
